Mash
This is Mash. After spending much of this past year honing his skills as a barista and perusing his dream, he opened his new and first coffee shop, Established Coffee, in the Cathedral Quarter of Belfast. I called in late this afternoon on the way home from work to support his new venture, to meet up with a couple of friends and sample some of his artisan coffee. The setting was wonderful, the craic was good, and the coffee was better still (full of flavour, not bitter, and served at a temperature that didn't burn the flavour away).
About an hour and a half after we left, a small bomb went off 50 yards down the street. Mash got a photo of it - you might have seen it on BBC Newsline tonight.
Thankfully, no one was hurt. But the hundreds of Christmas party goers and residents of the area had their evening plans changed a little. They don't need this nonsense. Belfast doesn't need it. And Mash doesn't need it either.
