Anyone who follows my photostream knows I love finding benchmarks while out hiking. The park officials at Bryce Canyon have placed 3 benchmarks on the Queen's Garden-Peekaboo-Navajo trail loop. OK, in this case they are pretty touristy and absolutely ZERO challenge to find.... but they were still fun.
Utah Vacation Day 9: Return to Bryce Canyon National Park. Last year we had planned to spend two days hiking trails down into amazing Bryce Canyon, but some moderately severe health problems had us cancelling vacation after just one day in the park. We hadn't planned on hiking Bryce this year, but a favorable weather forecast on the last day of our vacation made it just too tempting. We bundled up and started our hike early in the morning with temps around freezing and a cold breeze blowing. We combined the Queen's Garden. Peekaboo Loop, and Navajo Loop trails to make a figure 8 loop through the main Bryce Amphitheater. We were in t-shirts by the time end of the hike and it was every bit as beautiful as I had hoped it would be.
