We were making our way along the North coast of Iceland, using all possible small roads to drive along the coast lines of those beautiful North fjords. When we drove along the shoreline of Skagafjordur fjord we came to a place with an enormous, very prominent sea stack close to the shore called Þórðarhöfði from which two small causeways connecting the stack with the shore form a kind of tidal lagoon and these were the amazing patterns the receding waters were creating on the black volcanic beach.
