Eastern Marsh Harrier

This Eastern Marsh Harrier cruised close by while we were on a boat trip at the Bueng Boraphet Non-hunting Area, Nakhon Sawan province, Thailand. What an impressive sight! This is a male, with brownish head and white body and underwings; females are brownish overall. This species found in Asia is the eastern counterpart of Western Marsh Harrier (C. aeruginosus) of Europe, Africa, and the Indian Subcontinent.
