my huckleberry friend
Week 20/52 — Outtake #2
Today marks a year since the final episode of Lost, and I still miss it. I know, it's ridiculous to get this attached to a TV show, but it's a little like losing a friend, you know? For six years, we all had this connection, these storylines that kept us joined and talking and together. We're all still friends, the fandom — I've had friends here for as long as the show has lasted — but we all miss the series. And even with the new beginnings we get, there's always that... melancholy, that comes on the day which marks a year from the death of the show. It was such a wonderful ride.
Lost was a show, above all, about the power of togetherness. I hated Jack with all of my soul, but the 'Live together, die alone' motto never really left my mind and I'm thankful for that. I love how it brought so many of us together over the thousands of miles that separate us, how it made us all friends. It's something to appreciate. And to miss, as well.
