the foundation of fire
[Every week, there will be a letter, going through the order of the alphabet. Every Monday, I'll open the Chambers Compact Dictionary and I'll randomly pick a page of the said letter. Out of that page, I'll randomly pick a word. And every Friday, there will be a picture based on that word.
Welcome to the Alphabet Tales. ]
Week #5
Letter E
Element, el'e-ment, n. a first principle; one of the essential parts of anything; an ingredient; the proper state of sphere of any thing of being; any one of the four substances supposed by the ancients to be the foundation of everything — namely, fire, air, water and earth.
---
This took me forever to actually take and post. I apologize to everyone who's following the series — Christmas came and right after that I went to Berlin to spend 12 days with my Darling, so I left this word for later. I ended up only doing it now, and I've already taken this week's shot, so I should go back to the usual schedule on Friday.
After going back and forth on this word, I figured I could use one of the four elements as a theme, and I (obviously) chose fire. A part of me wants to do a series on the other three elements, but right now I'm focusing more on the next word — Fit.
I hope your holidays were wonderful, and I'm so glad you're taking the time to see this photo. Have a lovely day!
