Born and raised in Launceston, and the daughter of a popular TV news presenter, Ariarne Titmus has become the most successful Tasmanian swimmer of all time. Although she lives and trains in Queensland now, she still calls Tasmania home. She won gold medals in the Tokyo Olympics (2021) in the 200 and 400 metres and successfully backed up to defend her 400 metre title in the Paris Olympics (2024). She was also on the women's relay 200 metre team which won gold in Paris.
