The first book in the series Accidentally Wes Anderson came out in 2020. It became a New York Times bestseller from Wally and Amanda Koval. Now four years on, the second in the series AWA Adventures is being released on October 22 from good book stores everywhere.

As in every Wes Anderson movie there are storylines aplenty in this book (that runs to 368 hardbound pages). Stories that cover every continent of the globe. 200 locations are featured, including my photograph from a cabin on the Spirit of Tasmania. Wes Anderson himself writes the foreword.

Most important of all (and the reason I bought the first book in this series), is the inspiration these 200 photographs provide for your own photography. This is a photobook like no other!

For Australian viewers

Throughout October and November the Accidentally Wes Anderson exhibition is being staged at 360 Bourke Street, Melbourne. The exhibition will highlight all the photographs in the book in a whimsical setting (as per the Wes Anderson experience). Bookings by following the link: awaexhibition.com/melbourne/

VIDEO CREDITS:

The old Tasmanian photographs that I turned into animated adventures are from pioneering photographer Herbert J. King (1892-1973). I have a link below to the short film I made last year exploring his work.

The music is "Mr Mustafa" by film composer Alexandre Desplat in Wes Anderson's magnificent movie, The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014).
