The 1870 Viaduct (Film)

[Here I am showing you a small selection of the photographs in "The Road to Longford" slideshow. I appreciate those who take the time to watch the entire slideshow. Thank you.]

The Longford viaduct was completed in 1870. It was constructed with over one million bricks and consists of five 12 metre arches. It joins one of the earliest steel frame railway bridges in Australia that actually crosses the South Esk River (shown in the slideshow).

Camera: Nikon F90X with the AF Nikkor 28-70mm f/3.5-4.5D lens.

Film: Kodak Gold 200 Color film

My photograph shows the arch under which the racing cars travelled during the years of Longford motor sport. But it can't possibly top this 1930 photograph of a steam engine on this exact section of the viaduct. primotipo.com/tag/1959-australian-grand-prix/
