Ross Uniting Church Interior

No, this is not pinhole. But I had to show you this beautiful interior. This church was built in 1885 to replace the old Wesleyan Chapel of the Methodist Church. I have previously shown how it is set on a hill that towers above everything else in the town. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/50334597378/in/album-72...

The window on the left has some beautiful stained glass that dates from 1884. It was a gift by former students of Horton College. This college was run by the church and existed not far down the road. Unfortunately all that is left of it is a single arch. www.flickr.com/photos/luminosity7/50350853282/in/album-72...

The motifs are fascinating and I've never seen this combination of biblical figures together like this before. There is the calling of the young boy Samuel to be a prophet in Israel (1 Samuel 3), and then on the other side is the raising of young Timothy (Paul's apostolic protégé) by his mother Eunice and his grandmother Lois. Timothy went on to become a bishop in the early church.

In the middle is another young man fresh from his Bar Mitzvah who showed wisdom far beyond his years when he debated with the Jewish theologians in the Temple at the age of 12: His name was Yeshua ben Joseph. We know him as Jesus.

Photographs taken with the Nikon D850.
