The grounds of the Heide Museum of Modern Art are popular with picnickers and for weddings. All are welcome at Heide (with appropriate booking). But amidst the Sculpture Garden some creatures simply call it home.

 

Being right next to the Yarra River, bird life is abundant. Here I witnessed an interesting development (and natural symmetry). Five Australian Wood Ducks have moved in on the territory occupied by five Galahs. One colourful Galah appears to be making a stand, while the others go on feeding (Galahs are generally regarded as a little less intelligent than other parrot species in Australia - beautiful though they are). This is revealed in the popular term for a fool as "a galah".
