Tasmania Felix

"Felix" noun

From Latin: Fēlīx meaning "fortunate, happy, or lucky".

Australia used to be referred to as "the lucky country". Originally this went back to the colonial days of "Australia Felix", long before the colonies became a Federation in 1901. But it was always only "felix" for some. It was however a land of opportunity and a place of new beginnings.

That is Tasmania today. Fortunate in many respects, especially since it has been the least directly affected by world events in the past 18 months. Our air is clean, water pure, and more than 50 percent of our state has fully protected forests and an environment to be envied. Still, it is not enough for some. It never is when you're part of the WOKE crowd, where we are meant to feel guilty just for living.

In the end we are all fortunate to exist, the winners in nature's lottery. So it's time we give thanks for the gift of life to the Author of Life.
