Oura Oura Slideshow

In this slideshow you get a chance to look around Oura Oura, and take in the natural beauty of its landscape. Behind the cottage is Dry's Bluff, a 1,000 metre climb to the summit (regarded as one of the toughest day walks in Tasmania). The Liffey River runs gently alongside the property.

After my little conversation with Bob Brown I went to find my wife Marjorie who was sketching down by the river bank (you'll see her in this slideshow). As I continued to shoot, Marjorie shared a coffee and conversation with Bob and the others for quite some time.

The music here is by Peter Sculthorpe (1929-2014), Tasmania's greatest composer. Sculthorpe was born in Launceston and composed this piece "Small Town" in 1976. 1976 was the year Bob Brown and friends established The Wilderness Society at this very site. I thought that was appropriate.
