Union Chapel

[Enlarge and take a look around. Read the grave stones.]

Although first built in 1855 as a Presbyterian church, this became known as a Union Chapel when Anglicans and other denominations began to use it for services.

I have deliberated composed this photograph to pay tribute to the spirit of rural Australia that allowed cooperation in a time of division. This shot might be the last chance we see this little abandoned chapel in some sort of idyllic setting. It won't last too many years unless something is seriously done to preserve it.

I hope you see this composition the way I do, like an old quilt with the scene of a little country church on it, with of course, that white picket fence. You've seen them before I'm sure.

Tomorrow we'll actually go inside and survey the damage.
