Soulmates
Once again I touch
your handmade book.
With awe-filled eyes,
I still can't believe
that things like these
are under my hands,
and my grateful look.
Yet it's not enough, today.
Thoughts go on their own way.
I take out, under
the sunlight once again,
forgotten papers of years ago -
and so gets deeper
and deeper my awe.
You should have seen my trembling fingers,
you should have heard my galloping pounding.
So many things, my heart that lingers
on memories gone now back and resounding.
I'll ask you to make a book with them.
You won't believe your eyes.
Can't imagine how much of us I hold.
Can't dream as much as I dream while I behold.
