Iban dos pastores guanches a encerrar su ganado a las cuevas cuando notaron que el ganado se remolinaba y no quería entrar.
Buscando la causa miraron hacia la embocadura del barranco y vieron sobre una peña, casi a la orilla del mar, la santa imagen la cual creyeron estaba animada.
Como estaba prohibido a los hombres hablar o acercarse a las mujeres en despoblado, pensaron hacerle señas para que se retirase a fin de que pasase el ganado.
Pero al querer ejecutar la acción, el brazo se le quedó yerto y sin movimiento. El otro pastor quiso herirla con su cuchillo.
Pero en vez quedó herido el mismo.
Asustados, huyeron los dos pastores a Chinguano, a la cueva-palacio del rey Acaymo, para referirle lo acontecido.
El rey fue a ver con sus consejeros.
El rey decidió que fuesen los mismos dos pastores ya heridos quienes la recogieran para llevarla al palacio. Ellos, al contacto con la imagen, quedaron sanados.

Zwei Guanche-Hirten gingen, um ihr Vieh in die Höhlen zu sperren, als sie bemerkten, dass das Vieh herumwirbelte und nicht hinein wollte.
Auf der Suche nach der Ursache blickten sie auf den Ansatz der Schlucht und sahen auf einem Felsen, fast am Ufer des Meeres, das heilige Bild, das sie für lebhaft hielten.
Da es Männern verboten war, in der Wildnis mit Frauen zu sprechen oder sich ihnen zu nähern, dachten sie, sie würden ihn in Rente schicken, damit das Vieh vorübergehen könne.
Aber als er die Handlung ausführen wollte, blieb sein Arm steif und bewegungslos. Der andere Pastor wollte sie mit seinem Messer verletzen.
Aber stattdessen wurde er selbst verwundet.
Erschrocken flohen die beiden Hirten nach Chinguano, in den Höhlenpalast König Acaymos, um ihm zu erzählen, was geschah.
Der König ging zu seinen Ratgebern.
Der König entschied, dass es sich um zwei verwaiste Hirten handelte, die sie abholen würden, um sie in den Palast zu bringen. Sie, in Kontakt mit dem Bild, wurden geheilt.

Anaven dos pastors guanxes a tancar el seu bestiar a les coves quan van notar que el bestiar es remolinaba i no volia entrar.
Buscant la causa van mirar cap a l'embocadura del barranc i van veure sobre una penya, gairebé a la vora del mar, la santa imatge la qual van creure estava animada.
Com estava prohibit als homes parlar o apropar-se a les dones en despoblat, van pensar fer-li senyals perquè es retirés a fi que passés el bestiar.
Però en voler executar l'acció, el braç se li va quedar ert i sense moviment. L'altre pastor va voler ferir-la amb el seu ganivet.
Però en comptes va quedar ferit el mateix.
Espantats, van fugir els dos pastors a Chinguano, a la cova-palau del rei Acaymo, per referir-li l'esdevingut.
El rei va anar a veure amb els seus consellers.
El rei va decidir que fossin els mateixos dos pastors ja ferits els qui la recollissin per portar-la al palau. Ells, al contacte amb la imatge, van quedar curats.

Two guanche shepherds went to confine their cattle to the caves when they noticed that the cattle swirled and did not want to enter.
Seeking the cause, they looked towards the embouchure of the ravine and saw on a rock, almost on the shore of the sea, the holy image which they thought was animated.
As it was forbidden for men to talk or approach women in the wilderness, they thought to beckon him to retire in order for the cattle to pass.
But when wanting to perform the action, his arm remained stiff and motionless. The other shepherd wanted to hurt her with his knife.
But instead he was wounded himself.
Scared, the two shepherds fled to Chinguano, to the cave-palace of King Acaymo, to tell him what happened.
The king went to see his counselors.
The king decided that it was the same two shepherds already wounded who would pick her up to take her to the palace. They, at the contact with the image, were healed.
