Odissea XII

Felt-tip pens and watercolour crayons. I studied ancient Greek and Latin for five years developing developed a strange hate/love feeling for these languages. However, I always found the Odyssey passionating. For me, it is a very romantic book, as Ulysses eventually returns to Penelope, despite being offered the love of younger and more beautiful women, and even immortality.

In this drawing I tryed to represent an episode from the XII Book, which narrates how Ulysses and his crew survived the sirens, creatures who attracted men by singing with their hypnotic voices, and then ate them alive.
