I switched pictures to this view. I wanted you to see the purplish iridescent ring around it's neck!!!! :) This one followed me when I was taking pictures of the sunset....so I told him that I'd post his picture!!! lol :)
The oldest known Black-chinned Hummingbird was a female, at least 11 years, 2 months, when it was recaptured and rereleased during banding operations in Texas in 2008.
