"ten ox herding pictures of zen" | story & symbolism series | Polaroid 600

Multi-panel print series from a gallery showing.

This piece is loosely based upon the traditional Chinese and Japanese 11th to 12th-century series of Zen drawings (also called "Ten Bulls") symbolizing the journey to classical enlightenment or liberation. They depict a young person seeking a bull, taming it, and then riding it back into the village.
