Artesian Canibals

This was the highlight of my adventuring with all of the lessons I learned about life from this event. We had to figure out how to get our whole group across the tree stumps with only 3 cross beams - and nothing could touch the ground or else the cannibals would feast.

With our first fall I was ready to have that person be dead so we could move on - but no! They only lost a body part and still had to go through! So we had blind girls, one legged girls, one armed, and even a two armed loss. We lost a 2 logs at mid point and to barter their return we all had to become mute. It was a challenge to communicate mutely to one of our blind girls of how and when to move!

The girls were marvelous helping each other out and cheering when someone successfully made their way across.

As in life, when we fall of the straight and narrow path, there are others willing to help us back on and through if we'll allow them to. And often we are injured when we fall - physically or spiritually. We may not be able to escape the injury that is caused by the fall, but we are still loved and we can still help others in need. Erika lost an arm at the end, yet she still helped others maintain their balance and pass at the most precarious spot at the end. Natalie lost her sight, but she was still reaching out to catch hands and pull them to safety. Lizzie lost and arm, but she still managed to pull those beams up and carry them out to complete our course.

An amazing and uplifting event!
