Holly blue (a male ♂)
I was very pleased to get this photo. Even though I have seen several of these butterflies in recent weeks (and very few previously) it is very rare to see one with wings open. This was the only photo I got, as the open wings was very momentary. Ideally I would have liked it on a flower, but this is already way beyond expectations.
To see both the male and female like this on the same day and in the same area was unbelievable.
