Just now, as I'm typing this, I'm realizing I saw a similar pose from another model...hand covering mouth...different expression, but it must be a common move in modeling...lots of times, hell, most of the time, I can tell when a subject is throwing out Poses, things stiffen up, all the electricity goes out of the room.

But little poses like this apparently have been slipping under my radar all this time.

If I were more diligent, perhaps I'd go through all my old photos, catalog the common poses, create a series out of it.

But man, that just sounds like Work. Better I am occasionally surprised to find them, like a years-long game of Memory.

And now that I've had a few minutes to think it over, I'm intrigued by how the same pose is vastly different between subjects. When Pulp did this, it was demure, quiet. But here with Paola, it's more excited, engaged.

Which, in miniature, is what I love about portraits. You can take dozens of people to the same location, you can tell them to do the same things, you can shoot at the same time of day...and you'll still end up with them all being different.
