Boxing Day Test

Hi All, back from the Down Under. Saw quite a bit of Cricket there. Here, we have the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) or as the locals call it "The G". It is one of the venerated Cricket venues in the world which was first opened in 1854. Its a huge stadium with a capacity of around 100000.

The Boxing Day Test is the annual tradition here when the Australian team opens their Summer Cricket season by playing any of the visiting national teams. This year it happened to be India. A Cricket "test" match is played over 5 days - Cricket at its classic best! I count this as one of my fortunate moments to have been there and watched the whole match, even when my team (India) lost the match coming in as favorites. The average attendance for this match over the four days(India lost in 4 days) was some 40K ! I can hear the chuckles from some of you ! Trust me, Cricket is lot of fun .
