Kings Cross station London 31st December 1975

A couple of mid-1970s views of the changing scene at the Cross.

Kings Cross station signal box still stood proud (although getting a bit tatty) at the country end of the platforms but it wasn't to last that much longer as all the 1950s colour signalling was replaced by modern multiple aspect signals. Note that one of the dollies in the foreground has been pulled off showing that, in fact, not all the signals were colour lights. A Class 31 waits at the head of its train.
