Green River Overlook, Canyonlands NP
The Green River and some of its tributaries have broken through the hard layer of white sandstone, known as the White Rim, to cut these beautiful lower level canyons in the softer sandstone below. The White Rim is made up of ancient inland sea sediments and is about 1,000 feet below this viewpoint.
