Searchlight Casting for Faults in Clouds of Delusion

The crystal clear 4AM sky did not hold out much hope for a colorful sunrise and I thought about heading back to bed. However a quick check of the radar showed some clouds heading in from the west and I put my optimist hat back on. As I neared the coast I saw some color developing and I smiled hopefully. I walked across the bridge to the beach with two other photographers and we were all eager with anticipation. The light was fleeting though. I had to run between comp sites and 15 minutes after sunrise all the clouds and color were gone.

Thanks to Robert Hunter for the title.
