Oldest surviving Volkswagen / VW Beetle

The oldest surviving VW Beetle... in the world. At the time they were still known as 'KdF wagens' or 'Kraft durch Freude / Strength through Joy' cars, a Nazi propaganda term. Informally the term 'Volkswagen' or 'People's car' was already common though. It's from 1938, one of the VW38 prototypes, hand built in Porsche's garage. This picture was made in 1999 in the Volkswagen museum in Wolfsburg. Scanned from a slide. Now uploaded in full resolution. The car is still there today.
