Although it was officially a sunny morning, the light was quite a bit dimmed by the wildfire smoke that has drifted down from Northren Minnesota and Ontario. The air was tinged with the blue gray haze that dominates the background. Still, it was, and always is, a thrill to see one of these magnificent birds lift off.
