Dear Flickr friends, let me say this is a great day. I am launching the gigantic Massilight Project: a serie of more than 15000 pictures. May this huge effort serve as an excuse for my rather lazy presence here these last six months (the duration for this project to get mature).
Massilight starts living here on Flickr. Will this be a several year adventure as hoped for? Time will tell. One first "rendez vous" is in 2013, when Marseilles will be the yearly Capital of Culture of Europe.
I am currently listening to the great music of Joshua James.
This picture participates in the huge 'Massilight' project, started with around 15000 night pictures of 'Massilia' (Marseilles) that tell a story of Marseilles and close surroundings, gathered during the 2009-2010 winter, mostly when the Christmas lights illuminate the city.

The project started living on Flickr in the summer 2010, and more details can be found on my profile page www.flickr.com/people/lo1/.
Massilight pictures can be viewed in several ways, by increasing date taken:
- in their 'Massilight' flickr set
- or using darckr with your preferred settings
- also in square size, 10 columns, 500 squares per page, (or a random page)
- or using 20 columns, good for large screens, (or a random page)
They can also be viewed according to a Flickr's interestingness sequence:
- by descending interestingness (500 squares), (small), (medium)
- by ascending interestingness (500 squares), (small), (medium)
Note that the interestingness ranking will vary over time based upon photo views, faves, etc. This evolution is part of what makes the massilight project a living and interactive artwork.
