Vik, Iceland | Iceland in Love Series
Self-portrait of Jarret and I on the black sand beaches of Vik, Iceland. Probably the strongest winds I've ever experienced and I'm from Wyoming where 30 mph wind is normal. I tied my backpack, coats and scarf to the bottom of the tripod to prevent it from blowing away while the camera's self-timing counted down. People were being pushed to the ground by the wind and the tides began rising and we were soon told to leave. But it was probably the most beautiful place I've ever been and my dream location. My dream is to live in the village of Vik, a town of only 300. It's seriously the town I see in my dreams. We didn't have much time here at all but I'm glad I was able to get at least one portrait of us on the beach. The moodiness of clinging on to Jarret for warmth and stability to stand fits the constant moody weather that surrounds Iceland.
