Aromatherapy & diffuser October 14 2011 (5)

My love of nature is not exclusive to animals and the bug kingdom. I am very grateful for plants, flowers, herbs, spices, natural resins and essential oils.

I love making my own aromatherapy blends with incorporating what I have harvested or the organic herbs, woods and other natural goodies I have purchased! I feel it is a sacred and joyous task.

I never defer to books for recipes. I listen to my own intuitive and inner-knowledge of plants. How they each smell as individuals and making a balanced blend that works together.

In this pic is my forest harvest blend giving off it's rich woodsy aroma.

I also make incense which I love to do. It's not stick incense, it's good old fashioned resin with a earthy mix of herbs, woods, sages and with other goodies incorporated in it. I burn it with little charcoals designed just for that purpose and to me it blows away stick incense.

I feel that whether I am burning incense or aromatherapy it is still releasing the healing properties into the environment and surroundings. The blends I make have a warm luxurious fragrance and I noticed 3/4 of an eye dropper full of essential oils throws off fragrance for days with non stop use. The one pictured above is my husbands favorite.

It is really nice for me to be able to do this again. I'd forgotten how much I love working with the earth's bountiful blessings and I am reclaiming this part of me. I am so joyous and grateful when I make these that the "warmth scent" must be my smile while I am making it that some how got into the blending of it:D
