My Dissertation Defense--Finally!
A number of very bad events delayed this until now but It's over and done with at last!
And yes, that's my first intro slide--my dissertation work focused on factors that drive variability in predation within salt marsh habitats using blue crabs and marsh periwinkles as a model predator-prey system. A large portion of my work focused on predator-induced changes in snail shell morphologies--periwinkles are able to alter the thickness and shape of their shells in response to the perceived threat of predation by blue crabs. Very cool stuff going on out there under our noses.
