0514: Don't Quit Your Night Job!
Okay, so my newest "obsession"... "Don't Quit Your Night Job." It's an improv show featuring Broadway performers, so, it's hysterical... but, there's also a lot of singing. SO.MUCH.FUN! Basically, there are three creators/hosts (Steve Rosen, Sarah Saltzberg and David Rossmer... a fourth creator, Dan Lipton, is the music director), about 30 ensemble members who rotate in each show, and then one or two special guests for each show. So far for the special guests I've seen John Tartaglia, Eric Millegan, Andrea Martin, Melissa Errico, Kat Foster and a couple of people from A Chorus Line... some people who I'm not even sure if were ensemble or guests, but, that I know from other shows were Marc Kudisch, Jordan Gelber, Will Chase and Jennifer Cody. And, really, everyone from the guests to the ensemble to the hosts has been awesome.
The show was started as a monthly thing down at Joe's Pub, which I never managed to make it to. Now it's playing 6 times a week at Ha! on 46th Street... way more convenient! (And earlier in the night, which makes it easier... though still late enough that you can do something else first!)
I definitely recommend checking it out! The website is here and the MySpace is here.
