Sunsest over Horsetail Falls

The sunset over Yosemite sets the waterfall known as Horsetail alight with brilliant orange giving it the nickname of Firefall during a short few days in the month of February. Back in the 60’s they used to push the coals from a hot fire at Glacier Point over the edge and it wowed crowds below. But when that stopped someone noticed that if conditions where right, nature put on a show of her own that would illuminate a waterfall on the opposite end of Yosemite Valley. The popularity of Mother Nature’s event now rivals that of the man-made event that has passed into history.
