Around the Bend - Yosemite National Park

Descending down steep cliffs into Yosemite Valley during Autumn you quickly enter a wonderland of color and magic light. The steep cliffs protect the canyon below and the forest becomes more lush, more colorful and more magical. I typically avoid roads but how can you resist a scene like this? Without the road the forest quickly becomes dense and closes in around you. The saying you can't see the forest for the trees becomes apparently true so the road give us this incredible view of the various trees that grow along the canyon floor. It's not the big sweeping vista that Yosemite is so well known for but... wow!
