Death

I was supposed to die that day and all my body knew it. My fingers were numb and my limbs felt heavier. Even the blood that ran through my veins seemed thicker, no longer needed.

As I lay on the floor, waiting, I expected clarity, a revelation of the moment my life turned into this mess, or a vision of those green eyes I could never possess. Neither came to my rescue.
