Proyecto Taprapacá

Proyecto Tarapacá's reconstruction prototype and government's reconstruction module by architect René Mancilla. Both of them mixing traditional and modern techniques.

While Proyecto Tarapaca's proposal uses an adobe thermal buffer over a concrete brick structure, Mancilla's one uses a sort of modern quincha* in the main and back façades, while the sides remain in concrete bricks.

 

* qincha; traditional technique, consist of clay mortar over cane panels structured with wooden frames.
