von Alan Cox (Red Hat)
Donnerstag, 31.05.2007, Saal 5: Wiesbaden, 13:30-15:00 Uhr
The old ATA drivers show their age: being maintained but not really supported, the ATA subsystem needed urgently a brush-up. The 2.6.19 Linux-kernel introduces some PATA drivers, libata has been supplemented with PATA support, and several new controllers are supported. The talk will discuss recent development and the future roadmap of one of the cruical parts of Linux storage subsystems.
