Hart aber fair: Der Desktop von Übermorgen

Was viele nicht zu fragen wagen: In diesem philophischen Quartett werden die unbequemen Fragen über den Desktop von Morgen den Desktop-Architekten von Heute gestellt. Die LinuxTag-Gastgeber Oliver Zendel und Nils Magnus fragen den GNOME Vordenker Nat Friedman (angefragt) und den KDE Begründer Matthias Ettrich nach ihren Visionen von übermorgen. Gemeinsam verfolgen sie Gedanken zuende, die heute noch nicht auf jeder Agenda stehen.

Über den Autor Nils Magnus:

Nils was co-founder of LinuxTag back in 1995 and is today involved as Program Chair. He is resposnsible for LinuxTag conference planning and organization and is member of the extended board.

Nils works as Senior Security Consultant at secunet Security Networks AG, Hamburg, Germany and has a focus on security analysis and solutions for high-security environments. He is head of the best practise team security analysis and leader of the network security team. If not concerned with computers, he loves to cook, to travel, and to listen to substantial music.

Über den Autor Matthias Ettrich:

Matthias is a well-known member of the Free Software Community. He created the LyX document-processor and is a founder of the K Desktop Environment (KDE), which provides Linux and Unix systems with a familiar and friendly graphical user interface. KDE is one of the largest open source projects in existence, with hundreds of active contributors and a huge user base. KDE is built with the Qt toolkit created by Oslo-based Trolltech. As VP Engineering at Trolltech, Matthias leads the Qt development team.

Über den Autor Larry Ewing:

Larry Ewing is a programmer and works on several Free Software projects, many of them related to photo management, graphics, and art. Currently a Sr. Software Engineer at Novell, he is especially known as the creator of the Linux mascot, Tux.
