This is the site of the 395' high space-themed Landmark Hotel, which was destroyed in 1995 to make room for a parking lot and the rest of the junk you see here. The Landmark was where I stayed at my first Comdex in 1985. It was $35 a night and in terrible shape. But it had the best location possible: right across from the Convention Center.
