nixie clock, new case variation
back to the techshop to laser cut another top. I carved out a bit of the front section so that, if you are viewing it from above (like the photo) the top plastic won't get in the way (as much).
also cut out an orange front bezel, for a bit of protection and also to increase the contrast (hiding a bit of the screening inside the tubes).
I wrote the firmware (arduino nano based) and hand-wired this. its not a printed circuit, its hand-wired point to point soldering using thin kynar wire.
(photo note: the photo is a bit noisy since I had to shift the ISO up a bit, to capture the seconds quickly; there was also not much light in the room, so I had to boost the photo using levels and shadow/highlight.)
