Pins-Up
Before we were so rudely interrupted, I was working through some of the pictures from this winter's Hotsy Totsy Burlesque tribute to The Big Lebowski.
What a difference a season makes. In February I was sickly but didn't have tubes in my chest yet; my mom was still alive and as cantankerous as ever; I was close with someone I loved who has since made a sharp exit, stage left. After a week of processing shots from my recent trip to Maine for family grieving, it feels strange stepping back into these happy dark frigid frames from winter.
Which is here nor there, really, but I needed to write that out loud. Fresh scars.
What we've got here is The Dude's Dream, a burlesque recreation of the film's climactic bowling-alley dream sequence. Storyteller Peter Aguero, as The Dude, is obscured by the arm holding his bowling ball aloft; left and right are Bunny Buxom and Little Motown (who, delightfully, perform duets as "Little Buns").
