Moliceiro de Aveiro

Portugal

Aveiro

A moliceiro is a Portuguese flat-bottomed inland vessel.

The ship is named after the word molico, which means seaweed. They were often used for collecting seaweed. They have no keel, but they do have a high bow in the shape of a gooseneck. The high curled prow is brightly painted.

Today they are used for tourist trips.
