Our sea, where Portugal turned from the fifteenth century, forging an empire that was the most enduring in history.

From the sea came the cod, early fished on a hard toil in distant seas by Portuguese navigators, who called him the “Faina Maior”.

From the land came the Serra da Estrela Cheese, widely considered the best cheese in the world

The “Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau” aims to unite these two national historical traditions: the land and the sea. But also aims to unite these two other gastronomic traditions: the codfish cake and the Serra da Estrela cheese.

From the roots of our past, we bring the flavors and memories that build our present: Codfish Cake with Serra da Estrela Cheese.
