Athena

Her gray eyes glinted with her armor

as she broke into the sky.

 

Did the lonely cry of her owl

surrender a truth unknown?

 

Among soldiers and the wise,

she was relentless.

No endeavor could halt this

girl woven with bronze and ink.

 

Did her bright gaze gleam

with tears, or with blood?

 

She was the rust-colored sky before a storm.

She was their protector, the guardian of their dreams.
