Invisible, Giovanni Anselmo, 1971

Day Thirty Eight

Giovanni Anselmo (1934 -)

Invisible, 1971, image by JoetheLion via flickr

Arte Povera was concerned with language as well as material and form, and this work by Anselmo captures his exploration of man as a tiny part of the elemental force of nature and being. The word ‘visible’ comes into focus about two feet from the projector, pinning the viewer within the text – where you chose to stand renders you ’visible’.
