Bread

Wheat has been called the staff of life...many other grains such as corn, rice, barley, rye, quinoa, and millet are also ground and used to make this food of many generations of mankind...the most basic staple of people worldwide...and one of the things so few of us truly value and some even take for granted. A whole industry of farmers, millers, bakers, dairymen, herders, and animal husbandry was created to help make this staple of life......from chapati to pumpernickel, focaccia to bloomers, tortillas to brioche, wholemeal,multigrain, rye, sourdough, fruited sodabread, scones, cornbread, whie or brown, baguettes or challah....so many varieties they cannot easily be counted. Why then, are families and little children in so many countries worldwide starving to death for lack of food...in particular this most basic food...one of the most inexpensive and easiest to make? Ask this of yourself the next time you have toast with your breakfast or a roll with your dinner, or a sandwich for your lunch. There is only one answer for the suffering of many at the hands of a few who have it within their power and authority to change the world........greed. To be greedy is the ultimate demonstration of insecurity and selfishness. Those who are selfish and greedy cannot progress, and will not move to the next plane of awareness....they will remain in a prison of their own making, never being truly free....and they take their people hostage with hunger. All the worse for them. It is a saying that "man cannot live on bread alone"....it is correct....clean drinking water is also vital. Two things that are unbelievably in short supply.
