St.Louis Arch -1,summer 1965
The Gateway Arch in St.Louis,under construction in the summer of 1965 just after the brace was placed between the Arch legs to stabilize it. Arch was completed October 31st,1965.
The Arch was designed to withstand a 150 mile per hour wind and sway 18 inches off center.I have been at the top during a thunderstorm with 75 MPH winds and it sure sways.
