RECAP FROM Day 2:
The 19th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Week kicked-off rehearsals with the following artists: Ana de la Reguera, Carlos Rivera, Kany Garcia, J Balvin, Carla Morrison, Nicky Jam, Steve Aoki, Maná, Jorge Drexler, Mon Laferte, Natalia Lafourcade and El David Aguilar.
The Latin Recording Academy® Leading Ladies of Entertainment is a luncheon honoring and recognizing professional women within the arts and entertainment industries who have made significant contributions to their fields and/or have distinguished themselves through their social and philanthropic efforts. Gloria Calzada hosted this year’s luncheon which recognized four women:
· Rebbeca Gomez (Becky G), Award-winning singer, songwriter, and actress.
· Cynthia Hudson, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CNN en Español and Hispanic Strategy for CNN/U.S.
· Delia Orjuela, Vice President, Creative—Latin Music, BMI.
· Pamela Silva Conde, Six-time Emmy winning journalist and Co-anchor of Univision's Primer Impacto.
The Latin Recording Academy® honored the Lifetime Achievement and Trustees recipients during a private ceremony held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Las Vegas as part of the 19th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Week. Erasmo Carlos, Dyango, Andy Montañez, José María Napoleón, Chucho Valdés, Wilfrido Vargas, and Yuri received this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award. Horacio Malvicino and Tomás Muñoz received the Trustees Award.
The Latin Recording Academy hosted an intimate party at Moon located inside The Palms Casino Resort to celebrate the Best New Artist nominees of the 19th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. This year, the list of nominees in the Best New Artist category included Angela Aguilar, Anaadi, El David Aguilar, Alex Ferreira, Karol G, Lospetitffellas, Nana Mendoza, Christian Nodal, Claudia Prieto and Benjamín Walker. During the special night, the Best New Artists were recognized and all guests raised a glass of Buchanan’s Whisky to toast their accomplishments and celebrate la cultura!
Hosted by Ana de la Reguera and Carlos Rivera, The Biggest Night in Latin Music®, will broadcast live from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on November 15, from 8 – 11 PM ET/PT (7 PM Central) on Univision.
