Away from Hargaon
During our car journey from Pilibhit to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh (UP), I had recorded the passing of the 15309 Ruhelkhand Express in the care of YDM-4 6753 at Phardhan. Upon reaching Hargaon station some distance further south we caught the train up as it was being held for a late running northbound service. In this view, the 08:10 from Izzatnagar Junction was getting underway again to continue its now delayed journey to Aishbagh.
October 2016 will see the closure of this section of the NER MG route linking Sitapur and Mailani Junctions as gauge conversion (GC) work continues to eliminate the remaining metre gauge operations in UP, India.
